Hidden Gem way out in BFE Pennslyvania. If you're heading to the Dansko outlet, hit this place before and/or after your shopping excursion. Have you ever heard of Huaraches? Well, I hadn't but now I know that you should get it here. It's a homemade soft corn tortilla with refried beans, spicey sauce, lettuce, mexican cream, mexican cheese and your choice of meat. I got one with beef tongue and the other with spicy pork. The homemade soft corn tortilla really makes the whole dish wonderful. It must be their specialty and it is indeed worth trying. My sister got the enchilada, which does not come with homemade corn tortilla but is otherwise similar to the Huaraches. My mother got the Milanesa de Pollo o Res: breaded fried steak. It was quite good and she cleaned the plate despite the generous amount of steak provided. All of the above come with generous portions of refried beans and mexican rice. Food here is fresh, service is good. This spot is worth checking out.

One of the more tasty Mexican restaurants around! Eaten there quite a few times and never had a bad dish, and quite often I can't decide what I want because I can remember so many good options.

The best thing about this place is that you can get any of their combinations with any of the meat choices, and very few of the local Mexican places have chorizo as a choice. You can also choose red or green sauces, and their salsa while you wait is garlicy and hot. Very nice place.

I would agree 100% with the last reviewer. It's a hidden gem and the food is phenomenal. The first time was on a whim, as I try the unobvious eateries and this fit the bill. I never knew it was even there until I got a haircut at Rosci salon! Good, cozy place...BYOB and easy on the pockets. The food was a lot and rarely do I ever finish! Leftovers are always good, though!

So strictly based off of the food, this place is a 4 out of 5 for me but the service has been a little crappy as of lately. It is not enough to turn us off from this place though because the food is so good. I had the best tostados I've ever had here and have also had some very interesting dishes. The chorizo is really good and I usually get that with my dishes, but they also have some "authentic" meats which I haven't ventured to try. The atmosphere is pleasant except there is a place to play foosball right next to one of the tables. I will definitely be back though.

Love this place. Great food. Friendly service. It's BYOB

Fantastic Mexican, the mole sauce is superb, you must get the Malcajete, it is flavorful and is quite the presentation in a stone bowl, it's big enough to share. Good service, although its byob. We brought our own margaritas and they gave us margarita glasses to use which was a nice touch. Give it a try!!

This is probably the best mexican restaurant i have ever been into, they actually cook the food and not just have the food on a line warm all day, then just throw it on a plate and on the oven.. Here they cared, they had options for vegetarians, honest food, honest cooking, good service.. As good as it gets!!

This is the best Mexican restaurant in southern Chester County. I've been trying to find a Mexican restaurant that compares to the good Mexican food you get out west and to no avail. I keep coming back to Mi Cocina. Fresh food. My personal favorite, the Gordita which I believe is only on the lunch menu. I've tried many dishes and all very good. My only complaint is the Guacamole, However, I have the same complaint at most Mexican restaurants anymore and that is the tangy taste in the guac which I believe is a preservative added to keep it fresh longer. The refried beans are delicious and if you choose healthier, they have an option of vegetables as a side. The servers are always very nice and accommodating. It's a BYOB and probably worth mentioning that there is a State store in the same shopping center for convenience!

I went for lunch and it was ok. Service was very pleasant and I will go back for dinner soon. I would not go too far out of the way for lunch -- ok not great

Been there about 10 times so far and always willing to drive 45 minutes to eat here. People are friendly. Best dishes.... Adobo rojo de cerdo and Bistec a la Mexicana Tamales fritos as an appetizer are great. Make sure to enjoy the salsa verde and guac. Also, it is BYOB!

I take my daughter (4) here every couple of weeks after her swim lessons and she really likes it. The waitstaff always treats us well. They take the time to talk with her and when we walk in they know exactly what she likes to eat. The food is OK. The quality could be a little better but the basics are pretty good. My biggest complaint would be around their nachos. Do not waste your time with them. I make better ones at home. They are very basic and are made with sub-par ingredients. They are also not very consistent with the quality of the food they bring out. I am not sure if they rotate their cooks but what could be really good one week is only fair the following. We will be back because of the staff and the convenience but there are other places in the area that provide a higher quality of food for the price.

I am here again this week on training. I decided to stop in here since I was craving some Mexican food. I thought the chips and salsa was perfect. But that maybe because I was hungry to begin with. The rest of the food was just okay. Service was also not too bad but I think they can do better. There was something that was also bland which I think put a sour taste to the experience. I really liked the chips and salsa so they got some extra stars for that.

  • Andrea M.

The customer service here is great, the girls who work here are really sweet. The food is good and the salsa actually tastes authentic. The prices here are also reasonable. My only complaint is that the nachos or chips that are served as an appetizer are a pretty small portion and based on taste they are ok.

We tried this for the first time this evening... We got the enchiladas with chorizo and the fajitas both were very good. The service was good and the food was brought very hot and quick. The house chips and salsa was awesome with a bit of spice in the salsa. The price was very reasonable.. Highly recommend.

You can tell when a chef starts with fresh ingredients the flavors seem to pop! The food was excellent and the service great. The house made chips and salsa were fantastic!

Mixed feelings. The waitstaff are not very friendly or welcoming but the food is alright. I think I got a dirty look when I pronounced something wrong once. There seems to be a mix of good and mediocre dishes on the menu. My hubs really loves the burritos but I haven't been impressed with the few dishes I've gotten here. Vegetables seem to consistently be overcooked and under-salted. The onion rings and their sauce are the bomb, and the refried beans are pretty good too. Eating here isn't a life-changing experience and it's not cheap, it's good Mexican in a pinch but there are other places to go.

Have only ever gotten takeout here (on three separate occasions). Sooo soo wanted to love this place because it was silly close to my place of employment. However, for the price we paid you'd think they could get the order right, at least once. Getting past that, heck we gave it three chances, you'd also think the food would have some flavor. Nope, not even a little. Maybe more care and consideration goes into dine-in orders? I will never personally find out.

The quality of this restaurant seems to have gone down over the past year. The portion sizes are decreasing, and the food is increasingly bland. My wife and I used to be regulars here, but in the past year, we may have gone 5 times, all of which have been pretty bad.

This is the best Mexican food I've had since moving here from Chicago. My husband and I ordered an appetizer sampler before our meals, and I'm glad we did because it gave us an opportunity to try many menu items. We loved EVERYTHING. My husband had the cuban torta, I had chicken enchiladas, and we also had taquitos, empanadas, and tamales. It was all so delicious. The service was fantastic. Our server was a friendly girl who was one of the most professional servers I've seen in a long time. I plan on asking my husband to take me there again this werkend.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
